Huge interest in the running circuit continues

Huge interest in the running circuit continues with September runs also reaching race capacity in advance

Prague/The final few start numbers are up for grabs for the events coming up this September as part of the running circuit. “Mattoni Grand Prix Prague is sold out, we anticipate that we will reach race capacity for Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon in a few days’ time,” says Václav Sk?ivánek from the organisational team. It is highly likely that the complete programme of the six runs for this year’s premiere will be fully booked in advance.

“It marks a huge occasion and gives credit to the value of our work – thanks to all the runners who are with us at the start,” says Carlo Capalbo, President of the Organisational Committee.

Capacity for the Mattoni Grand Prix stands at 6000 places, while in Ústí nad Labem it has been increased up to 2300 runners in the competitive races. On top of this, hundreds more participants will be taking part in the family runs. As such, this year’s series will provide a total of 32 400 race numbers spread across the cities of Prague, ?eské Bud?jovice, Olomouc and Ústí nad Labem!

The Mattoni Grand Prix Prague will be taking place on Saturday 8thSeptember in Prague. The course, with the start and finish on the Old Town Square, offers up a unique atmosphere, leading runners through the illuminated streets of magic Prague. The event includes METRO 10K Race starting at 20.30 as well as the adidas Women’s Race 5km (start 19.00), intended for women only.

You won’t find a race like it anywhere else in the country. It plays a key role in raising the profile of running among women with the number of participants growing each year. Leading world longdistance runners will be taking part once again with the organisers promising to allure a truly exclusive star as well as the Czech running elite, while also offer plenty of joy to the participating runners.

On Sunday 16th September, the second ever Ústi Half Marathon will take place together with an accompanying 10 km Run. A part of the race course takes runners through the otherwise inaccessible territory of the Spolchemie chemical plant which boasts an unconventional backdrop to the event.

The registrations for the Hervis Prague Half Marathon and Volkswagen Prague Marathon 2013 (as well as for Mattoni ?eské Bud?jovice Half Marathon and Mattoni Olomouc Half Marathon) have been already opened. Having all the races 2012 sold out good in advance the organizers advice not to wait with the registration and also take advantage of the better price valid until September 30.  To feel the live atmosphere of the races have a look at the Hervis Prague Half Marathon 2012 and  Volkswagen Prague Marathon 2012 videos.
